Description
This is a 1923 Legal Tender Red Seal in Very Fine Condition. Being printed as the series of 1923, this is an example of the last red seal printed for the era of large size notes. Starting with the next series of 1928, notes were printed in their current size. And after 1928, there were no more red seal one dollar bills. Other denominations were printed with red seals as late as the 1960's. This is Freidberg number 40, and once you have this Freidberg number you have all numbers for this type! One of the rare one Freidberg types in US Currency.
This note is graded by PCGS as About New 55 with a comment about being starched.
You don't have to take my word for the grade of the note, you just have to trust PCGS.
