Vintage 1960's Mali Africa Handmade Resist Indigo Dye Denim Throw / Cloth

Hi! Thanks for looking! For sale is this genuine hand-stitched African heavy cloth from Mali. This is a magnificent example of resist dyeing of the Mali people in West Africa. In Japan, this is known as "shibori". It is 43.75" by 59", so it can be used as a throw or as fabric for your artistic or decorating needs. This was made and worn in the 1960's by the women in Mali as the previous owner told me. It has not been washed by me. You will get it as is. This is truly a great piece for a collector. The colors are of such beautiful pale to intense, dark, vintage indigo hues. Truly unique! If you are new to African Indigo hand dyeing, please know that all the "imperfections" are part of the artistic process of the men and women who hand-stitched these pieces of cloth together after dyeing the cotton with Indigo. So please do NOT expect a perfect piece of fabric or perfectly sown like a machine. All mud-cloth/indigo-cloths from Mali are ONE OF A KIND. Indigo is known as "blue gold" and it was made famous in the USA when Levi Strauss first dyed jeans with this plant dye.
